FHE Turned Bad!

Well the night started out perfected! We play ultimate frisbee with the Omar's, Campbell's, and a few other kids from the Spanish branch. Team Campbell/Briggs won however during the last 15 to 20 minutes of the game my mother showed up to the park to see Lane and Landon. As she was leaving she asked if she could take the boys home with her till we finished up. Rodney and I agreed. So she began loading up the kids in her rental car. (Her car was in the shop) Somehow...... I might add that the details are a bit fuzzy on this part. Somehow all of the doors were locked and shut with Lane and the keys inside.

I called Grandpa Marshall to see if he could help get Lane out of the car. He said he would be right over to help. After trying for about an hour with no luck Ken Marshall stopped by an went to work. By now another 1/2 hour had gone by. Lane was still locked in the car and no sign of getting out soon.

We tried everything, from a hanger to push the button with once inside the car, to begging Lane to just push the button, to shining a red light on the button for him to push, and finally the last attempt we hooked the keys with the hanger and pulled them out the door. Yes the door, the one that was locked. Which means the door was pried out about 2 to 3 inches. The door is ruined.
By the time Lane was freed he had by locked in the car for over 2 hours. However he handle himself well. For the most part he was pretty calm and loving the attention he was getting but toward the end he was ready to be out of the fish bowl.

Let me Out!!!!!

The Men hard at work the picture doesn't do justice. They have 3 screw drivers pried into the door jam and a hanger trying the push the button to unlock the door.

In the day light the damage to the car was bad. With it being a rental car my mother had to pay $100 deductible and the car company will do the rest. It would have been cheaper to break a window. The next day I was informed there was a lock smith in the valley who only charges $35 to open a car. I now have his number memorized.
