Oh Christmas Tree!

This is our trip to Caliente Mountain to cut down our Christmas tree. It was a beautiful day, and we enjoyed seeing what little family attended this long standing tradition. This is Lane and Rodney on the horse that shook him to death. Needless to say Lane was not fond of it.

This is our beautiful tree, we walked all over the mountain to find this beauty.

Lane was not interested in decorating the tree at all...... until Dad whiped out the train! I have to admitt it was a bitter sweet moment to see my son and his father with the train.
For those that do not know my fathers favorite part of Christmas was his train. He took a lot of pride in his train. I remember many years, of laying on the ground for hours, messing with the train to get it just right for dad.

Dad always loved to show Dylan and Cody his train and they would see how fast they could get the train to take the corners without de-railing.

Lane wants to help but does not understand the concept of hanging the balls on the tree not throwing them at it.

Well after a wonderful family home evening night of decorating our Christmas tree and after we were sure the tree was perfect. We lefted the house to take a thank you gift to The Marshalls and we returned to find our tree on the ground and about a quarter of our ornament broken. After a few pregnancy tears were shed (at least that is my story, "If I wasn't pregnant I would not have cried) we salvanged as much as we could. Now are tree is a little bare but it is silly to pay full price for ornaments when after Christmas you can get them for 75% off.

I hope all are enjoying the holiday season.

My Christmas wish to all is that you take time for those important moments that last long after the wrapping paper is gone and in my case with the train and my father; long after our loved ones are called home.

Merry Christmas!
The Happy Briggs Family!!!
